Scott Wicks has assumed the role of director of Library Technical Services, effective October 2. Over his nearly 19 years at Cornell, Scott has become an effective and diplomatic leader, an award-winning innovator, a skilled negotiator and analyst, and a responsive team player. His experience with technical services, performance management, workflow innovation, planning and implementation, licensing and e-resources is both broad and deep, and he is a recognized national leader. Scott's completion of a Cornell/Queens MBA degree this November further sets the stage for an important promotion. He will represent Cornell technical services both inside and outside Cornell, including for example serving as the chair of the Advisory Council for Technical Services (ACTS) and acting as the Library's representative to the ALA/ALCTS Technical Services Directors of Large Research Libraries (aka 'Big Heads'--see http://www.loc.gov/library/bigheads/).
