| Nancy Holcomb retires after 20 years of service Although Nancy is already on the market for a cataloging gig in Tuscon, Arizona, she officially "retired" from CUL on August 31, 2007. Anyone who knows Nancy would not be surprised to hear that she is ready to get back to cataloging so that she can remain sharp, engaged, and mobile in her retirement years. Nancy's CUL career first began in 1970 with a brief 2-year stint as a science and technology original cataloger. In 1987 Nancy returned to the CUL and assumed similar positions as a copy cataloger and catalog librarian over the next 14 years. In January of 2002 she became a metadata librarian and moved into the newly formed Metadata Services Unit. In her 20 years of service, Nancy was active in numerous committees and working groups, including the CUL Working Group on Cataloging and OLAC (Online Audiovisual Catalogers) Group of ALA. Nancy is settling down with her daughter, husband, and cat in her new environment in Arizona. She can be reached via email at nancy5959@yahoo.com. |
