Dawn Johnson's Retirement

Dawn has been with us in Library Technical Services for 43 years. She arrived at the Library in April 1964 and was hired to type subject headings and name authority headings to the catalog cards prior to them being filed in the card catalog. At that time Viola Weaver was her supervisor and Judy Crosby headed the serials unit. Dawn jokes that she remembers when Christian Boissonnas was still a student. Over the years Dawn has seen many job changes and many department reorganizations. Throughout all the changes Dawn has maintained the same level of dedication to the department and the library, much to the pleasure of her supervisors.

Dawn plans to enjoy day trips sponsored by Cornell Recreation and frequent trips to Minnesota to see her son and grandson. She promises to occasionally call us to help brighten our spirits as only she can. While the Ordering Unit will miss her we wish her the best. Please join me and LTS in wishing Dawn a happy and joyful retirement.
