Joyce Ogburn Consulting Visit Joyce Ogburn, Associate Director of the Libraries for Resources and Collection Management Services (RCMS), University of Washington, visited Cornell University Library and gave a presentation titled, Technical Services: Ringing in the changes and Meeting the Challenges of the 21st Century, sponsored by the Technical Services Integration Team on October 20, 2004. Joyce also gave a workshop for the members of TSEG and the integration team Joyce Ogburn's background encompasses technical services, collection development, digital library development, and anthropology bibliography. She holds a B.A. (UNC-Greensboro) and an M.A. in Anthopology (Indiana University), and an MSLS from UNC-Chapel Hill. Her professional career took her to Penn State University, Yale University, and Old Dominion University before she came to the University of Washington in 1999. Her consulting experience includes technical services organization and workflow at the Duke University libraries, the establishment of a Native American resource center at the Field Museum of Natural History, and the expansion of the publishing program of the American Anthropological Association to digital formats. She is leading initiatives in changing scholarly communication, electronic publishing, and developing digital repositories at the University and nationally.
