| TSWeb Combined Team Minutes, May 24, 2006 LTS Web May 24, 2006 In attendance: Jim Alberts, Michal Jacyna, Margaret Nichols, Lois Purcell, Nate Rupp, Nancy Solla, Jim Spear, Deb Warfield UPDATES Nancy. Received a lot of potential Resources and Tools materials from Ardeen White. We decided that most of it was appropriate for R&T, but that the cataloging glossary should go in Procedures and Documentation. We will link to the LC content from the R&T section. Nancy will look into how to load several images into the CS image gallery at once. Lois. Will email Jim Reidy to ask about anchor links. [Nate sent an email the after the meeting with an explanation about anchor links.] Will email Michal an example of page with a bulleted list that does not look right and he will use it to check the CSS for the problem with bulleted lists. Announced that Jim Reidy has turned off the spell check default. [Nate sent an email to Jim Reidy asking that the default be turned off for Jim Spear as well.] Will take a look at pages that have been brought over with "pre" tags to determine an easier way to work around them. Michal. Is working with Jim Reidy to develop a search engine for the site. The Google search engine will reindex the site once every one to three days and will search most kinds of content that will be on the site. It won’t search Word documents, but most documents are already in PDF, which Google does search. Documents that are still in Word should be moved into CommonSpot. The search engine will be implemented before the launch date. Reminded Jim Reidy that we need to have administrative rights to the system on Tuesday, May 23. [Nate emailed Jim May 24 to remind him again.] The site index and map will be automatically generated in CommonSpot. Michal will work with Nancy to move the images for the front page into the "rotating image" element. Michal will use Lois’ bulleted list sample to check the CSS for the problem with bulleted lists. If Michal needs help in this he will ask Nate for assistance. Nate. We need to send out the URL of the site pretty soon. Team members should let Nate know before our meeting on Tuesday, May 30, what they think about the date of June 12 for sending out the URL. Sally. Gary Branch suggested that we not include the list of vendor databases in Resources and Tools but we felt that those links were important enough to include on the site. |
