| TSWeb Combined Team Minutes, July 20, 2005 TS Web Maintenance Team Attending: Jim Alberts (Co-chair), Michal Jacyna, Sally Lockwood, Lois Purcell, Nate Rupp (Co-chair), Jim Spear, Deb Warfield 1. Introduction: Nate began the meeting by having each of the members introduce themselves and give a brief mention of their past involvement or interest in web work and connection with CUL technical services sites. He followed that by reviewing our charge, pointing out that the team is set up to be successful by dividing the work between two groups. The first group, led by Nate, will be addressing tasks 1-3 and 5-10 of the charge. The second group, led by Jim Alberts, will be concentrating primarily on task 4. Jim will be setting up separate meetings of that group soon. 2. Re-design: The group discussed how to re-design the site quickly to reflect the new reorganization without breaking everything out of the current TS site and the current CTS site. One first step will be to remove the bullet on the blue banner that directs a user to the Technical Services Centers. We agreed that the TS Centers page will be replaced by a page that contains the 5 new divisions, i.e. Administration, Acquisitions and Information Organization, E-Resources & Serials Management, Database Management, and Metadata Consulting Design & Development. 3. Priority changes: Three important changes to accomplish by August 1st when most facets of the reorganization will become effective: Jim was attending the TSEG meeting following our meeting, so will be getting feedback from that group about what sort of contacts/staff lists are critical before August 1. We'll also need to talk about disabling much of the department information on the current CTS site. 4. Common Spot: Jim and Nate briefly explained CU's migration to Common Spot and indicated that all members of the team will be participating in a contributor workshop that will take place this coming Fall. 5. New look: Nate's group will eventually talk about new graphics and overall look of the site. And the larger group of all team members will be meeting to discuss the redesign of the site as a whole. 6. Future meetings: Jim will set up a meeting of both groups for late next week when we will discuss regular meeting times and places. |
