| TSWeb Technical Team Minutes, Oct. 26, 2005 Attending: Michal Jacyna, Sally Lockwood, Nate Rupp, Nancy Solla 1. Nancy previewed some of the graphics that she has been designing for us. We gave her some feedback with which to work, including a desire for more graphics representing Metadata Services and Electronic Resources and Serials Management. [Are there other graphics that could represent Database Management?] We brainstormed a bit about other ideas for graphics so that Nancy can expand the collection. She will work on developing some of our ideas and run them by us at our next meeting. At some point before we make the graphics "live" on the home page, we will need to run them by the larger LTS Web group as well as TSEG. 2. We took a look at the latest iteration of the front page. a. We liked the names of the divisions where they were, but thought we should spell out their names if possible. The names of the groups are Acquisitions & Information Organization, Database Management, E-Resources & Serials Management, and Metadata Services. We also decided that names of the groups should be alphabetized across the row. b. We thought that "index" and "contacts" should be moved from the bar with the divisions to the bar with "Library Technical Services." We decided that we would use the top Cornell bar with a search box that searches the local site as well as Cornell, eliminating the need for us to have an additional search box. c. Nate will show Karen the current mission statements on the CTS site and the "About Us" section of TS Web and ask her if she wants to use either one for the mission statement of the new site. d. Michal will make the changes suggested in time for our next meeting.
We will cancel our meeting for November 1 to give Michal some time to make the changes suggested for the front page and continue mocking up what a second level page might look like. Nancy will also work on some more graphics. We will consider the front page, the second level page, and additional graphics at our meeting on Wedneday, November 9. (I’ve added meetings on Wednesday mornings from 8:15-9:45) through Wednesday, December 7. Let me know if there are any you can’t attend.) We will aim for demonstrating both the front and second level pages at a full LTS Web team meeting the third week of November. |
