Agenda item: Access to Books24x7 John Saylor, CUL selector for the Books24x7 e-book aggregator, asked ERC to consider access options to Books24x7. Books24x7 representatives had expressed security concerns regarding CUL's current approach to proxying CU users of Books24x7 titles. As an alternative, Books24x7 proposed that CUL require all CU users to log in to Books24x7 with their CU email addresses and passwords. ERC did not support Books24x7's proposal because the group felt it was important to protect the identities of CU users. ERC agreed to ask John Saylor to express its position to CUL's Books24x7 sales representative and to NERL.
