Scope of responsibility

Reporting to the LTS Senior Management Team (SMT), the LTS Training Committee supports the assessment and development of skills required to perform an effective, agile technical services operation that adjusts to shifts in priorities and service trends.  The LTS Training Committee will:

- assess training needs as derived from direct communication with LTS staff and managers

- communicate these needs to SMT

 - outline options available to meet the training needs identified as priorities by SMT to support two program cycles per year, offered in spring and fall semesters

- coordinate training of staff external to LTS on products and procedures used within LTS (ie. selectors, for example)

- develop related tools to support self-training

- submit any budget requests to SMT by August 1 of each year

 - assess success of training programs to inform future training program design with a brief report to SMT by March 1 of each year

Membership

SMT will appoint members to two-year, rolling terms with the option to be reappointed as per SMT.
