IV. B. Submitting a Euclid Issue This part of the procedure outlines the process of uploading the zipped "package" via the Project Euclid web interface. Before submitting, check the XML in NotePad and fix any strange characters representing quotes, apostrophes, hyphens, etc. Also, make sure filenames in article records in the XML match exactly the filenames on their PDF files. 1. Go to Project Euclid. Click on "log in" in the upper right-hand corner of all Euclid windows.
2. Log in as username "metaserv" and the password (not shown here for security reasons). The system will know if you have editorial privileges.
3. After logging in, click on "My profile" which will appear in the upper right-hand corner of all Euclid windows.
4. At the top left side of your profile, you should see a link labeled "Editor Workspace". Click that link. You will then be taken to the DPubS Administration area.
5. Under the label "Select a publication to work on:" select from the drop-down menu the Euclid abbreviation of the journal whose subscription data you are submitting (in many cases, there will be just one). Click "select". Note: On this list you will see some Euclid abbreviations with the word "select" after them, i.e. "euclid.tmj.select". Do NOT choose these when submitting issue metadata. Those publication choices are used for submitting subscription metadata, which is a completely different process.
Once you've selected your title from the drop-down menu, click the "select" button beneath it. (See below) Then click on the "Submit Content Data" link.
6. Browse to find the zip file in the issue's general folder and open the file.
Note: if this issue has been fully loaded in Euclid before, but needed to be corrected and reloaded for some reason, check the box next to "check if it is reload." 7. Choose "Upload zip file to Euclid." This takes a while. Validation (or not) comes back.
8. If message comes back that all the checks passed, you're done. Log out.
9. If errors come back after the server is done parsing XML metadata file, print out the page and investigate the errors. Fix them and resubmit the file.
10. To resubmit you must open zip file in UltimateZip, select the XML file, and remove it. Fix it in Oxygen or XMLSpy, save it, and add it back to the zip file. Then submit again to Euclid. You do NOT need to "check if it is reload" in this case because this issue was never fully loaded into the Euclid system. | |
