Scope: Library Technical Services (LTS) has been empowered to maintain its own records of staff time away from work for those who are exempt from COLTS record keeping.
Using a combination of the University’s web-based time tracking system https://accruals.ohr.cornell.edu, individual leave request forms, and an LTS-managed spreadsheet, managers will be able to have oversight for their staff time balances.

- How it works:
1. When an academic or exempt staff member wishes to request leave, he/she fills out the three-part University Library Leave Request Report and signs it.
2. The staff supervisor approves and signs the leave request form.
3. The pink copy is retained by the employee, the yellow copy is retained by the supervisor and the white copy is submitted to LTS administrative support personnel who retain them for one year.
4. The staff member adds the leave information to the web-based tracking system.
5. The LTS administrative support staff member adds the information into a central spreadsheet (see sample below for a single staff member).
- On a quarterly basis:
a.) The employee prints out the “History of Time Reported” screen from the web and submits to her supervisor
b.) Administrative support personnel distributes tracking for all staff reporting to the supervisor
c.) The supervisor compares and acts on any discrepancies

On a semi-annual basis:
a.) Staff will be requested by LHR to review their time recorded in the web-based tracking system and send approval to their office.
b.) Staff will provide his/her supervisor with a print copy of the "History of Time Reported" view of the web-based tracking system for comparison with supervisor's copies of leave slips.
