Metadata Services

Metadata is structured information that describes and/or facilitates the discovery, location, identification, administration, use, or management of the data to which it refers.  Professionals using metadata at Cornell University Library work on internal digital library projects, consult with members of the campus community in developing applications in which metadata plays a part, and partner with organizations external to CUL in the creation of both digital library projects and metadata applications.  In these roles, CUL staff determine how metadata can best serve the needs of a particular project.
