Database Management Services
Welcome to the Database Management Services Web portal. DMS is a dynamic and diversified department within Library Technical Services, whose collective responsibilities range from the creation and maintenance of MARC and other metadata to the marking and plating of material in print and other physical formats to the retrospective barcoding of print material. DMS is the go-to department for post-cataloging authority control and record loading; physical processing; transfers, withdrawals, and reinstatements; barcoding of non-rare materials; overall coordination of LTS batch processing initiatives; and the update and correction of Voyager data. DMS is also responsible for the creation and upkeep of the metadata in the CUL Registry of Digital Collections and contributes to the maintenance of metadata for the Library's digital and electronic resources. DMS serves as the primary technical services contact and support team for Library Annex operations. Given the scope of our charge, we collaborate extensively with other departments in LTS and with other units and divisions within the Library. Contacts
